The Comet C/2022 E3 ZTF is passing by the Flame Star Nebula in constellation Auriga on the night of February 8. The green area around the comet is called the coma, which is ice and dust with a lot of carbon (hence the color). The yellowish tail is composed of larger dust while the less visible thin gray ion tail is made of ionized gaz. All of these are ejected from the comet by the solar radiation.

I am quite happy to share my best picture so far of the famous green comet we saw at the beginning of the year !
Unfortunately, my poor processing skills and my schedule couldn’t allow me to post it while it was on the news. It was such a challenge to process... I know the image is far from perfect, but I am pleased with the result for a first try. I learnt so many things about processing that I know the next tries will be easier with hopefully better results !
